4、 Repair process

(1) Appearance inspection
1. Carefully inspect the appearance of the fire extinguisher cylinder, which should have no obvious deformation, corrosion (the corrosion depth should not exceed 1/10 of the cylinder thickness, and the corrosion area should not exceed 1/3 of the total cylinder area), cracks, or other defects. If the cylinder has severe deformation or excessive rust area, it should be scrapped.
2. Check whether the components such as the inspection head, valve, nozzle, and nozzle are intact, and whether there is any deformation, damage, blockage, or looseness. If there are any abnormalities, record and prepare to replace the corresponding components.
3. Check the pressure indicator dial, the pointer should indicate within the normal range, the dial glass should be clear and undamaged, and the connection between the pointer and the dial should be firm. If the pressure indicator is damaged or the pointer indicates abnormally, it needs to be repaired or replaced.
4. Check the nameplate identification of the fire extinguisher, which should be clear and complete, including model, specifications, production date, manufacturer, maintenance date, hydrostatic test pressure, and other information. If the nameplate is missing or unclear, appropriate measures should be taken to supplement or repair it.
(2) Unloading operation
Use specialized pressure relief tools or devices to slowly release the pressure inside the fire extinguisher, ensuring that subsequent disassembly and maintenance work can be carried out in a pressure free state. During the pressure relief process, attention should be paid to safety to prevent fire extinguishing agents from spraying and injuring people or polluting the surrounding environment.
(3) Disassemble and disassemble
1. Fix the fire extinguisher on the maintenance workbench, disassemble the head, nozzle, nozzle and other components in the correct order, and place them properly to prevent loss or damage of parts.
2. For detachable cylinders, if further inspection of the internal condition or cylinder maintenance is required, the cylinder can be carefully disassembled. During the disassembly process, it is important to record the connection method and position of each component so that it can be installed correctly during assembly.

2. Cylinder inspection and maintenance
Clean the interior of the cylinder to remove residual fire extinguishing agents, impurities, and rust. Suitable cleaning solutions and tools can be used, such as high-pressure water guns, brushes, etc. After cleaning, the cylinder should be thoroughly dried.
Use tools such as vernier calipers to measure the wall thickness of the cylinder and check if it meets the standard requirements. If the wall thickness of the cylinder is reduced beyond the specified limit, the cylinder should be scrapped.
Check if the connection parts of the cylinder are secure. If there is any looseness or damage, repair or replace the connecting components.
3. Inspection and maintenance of valve heads and valves
The sealing performance of the inspection head can be tested through water pressure test or air tightness test. If loose sealing is found, the sealing components should be replaced or the sealing surface should be repaired.
Check whether the valve is flexible in opening and closing. If there is any jamming, clean the inside of the valve to remove impurities and dirt, and lubricate the moving parts of the valve. If the valve is severely damaged and cannot be repaired, a new valve should be replaced.
Check the accuracy of the pressure indicator and calibrate it using a pressure indicator reading tester. If the reading error of the pressure indicator exceeds the allowable range, it should be adjusted or replaced.
4. Spray nozzle and nozzle inspection and maintenance
Check whether the nozzle is unobstructed, whether there is any deformation, rupture or blockage. If the nozzle is blocked, it can be cleaned with compressed air or suitable tools; If the nozzle is deformed or broken, a new nozzle should be replaced.
Check the spraying performance of the nozzle to ensure that it can evenly spray the fire extinguishing agent and the spraying angle meets the requirements. If the nozzle is damaged or has poor spraying performance, it should be replaced.
(5) Fire extinguishing agent filling
1. Select the appropriate fire extinguishing agent for filling according to the model and specifications of the fire extinguisher. Before filling, it should be ensured that the quality of the fire extinguishing agent meets the standard requirements and that the filling equipment is in normal working condition.
2. Use specialized fire extinguishing agent filling equipment and fill according to the prescribed filling amount. During the filling process, attention should be paid to controlling the filling speed and pressure to prevent fire extinguishing agent leakage or excessive filling.
3. After filling, the fire extinguisher should be weighed and inspected to ensure that the filling amount meets the standard requirements. If the filling amount is insufficient or excessive, adjustments should be made.
4. The pressure indicator of the fire extinguisher during filling cannot be used as a measuring pressure for filling pressure. A pressure gauge with an accuracy of not less than 1.6 must be used for measurement, and a pressure reducing valve must be used for filling high-pressure gas cylinders.
(6) Assembly and debugging
1. Assemble the repaired or replaced parts in the correct order, paying attention to the secure and reliable connections of each component, and ensuring good sealing performance.
2. After assembly, conduct overall debugging of the fire extinguisher, including checking the opening and closing functions of valves, whether the pressure indicator indicates normally, and the spraying performance of nozzles and nozzles. During the debugging process, it should be ensured that the fire extinguisher operates flexibly and has stable performance.
(7) Hydrostatic test
1. Install the assembled and debugged fire extinguisher on the water pressure test device, slowly increase the pressure to the specified test pressure (usually the water pressure test pressure marked on the fire extinguisher cylinder is 2.1 MPa), drive the pressure to 1.2 MPa, and maintain the pressure for no less than 1 minute.
2. During the pressure holding process, check for any leaks, deformations, or ruptures in the fire extinguisher cylinder, head, valve, nozzle, and other components. If any abnormal situation is found, the test should be stopped immediately and the fire extinguisher should be inspected and repaired.
3. After passing the hydrostatic test, slowly reduce the pressure to zero and remove the fire extinguisher from the testing device.
(8) Repair identification
1. Attach a maintenance label to a fire extinguisher that has been successfully repaired, which should include information such as the name of the maintenance unit, maintenance date, maintenance number, hydrostatic test pressure, and next maintenance date.
2. The maintenance label should be firmly pasted, clear and easy to see, ensuring that users can easily access the maintenance information of the fire extinguisher.

5、 Post repair inspection

1. Appearance inspection: Recheck the appearance of the fire extinguisher to ensure that the cylinder, head, nozzle, and other components are not damaged or deformed, the surface coating is uniform, and the markings are clear and complete.
2. Performance testing: Conduct a spray performance test on the fire extinguisher, spray the fire extinguishing agent according to the prescribed operating method, and check whether the spray time, spray distance, spray intensity and other indicators meet the standard requirements. At the same time, check whether the pressure indicator indicates normally and whether the valve opens and closes flexibly and reliably.
3. Sealing test: Place the fire extinguisher under specified environmental conditions (usually room temperature), let it stand for a period of time (not less than 24 hours), and check for any leakage of the fire extinguishing agent. The sealing test can be conducted using weighing method or pressure monitoring method.

6、 Maintenance Records and Archive Management
1. The maintenance unit should establish a comprehensive maintenance record system, and record in detail various information during the maintenance process for each fire extinguisher, including pre maintenance inspection, maintenance items, replaced parts, fire extinguishing agent filling amount, water pressure test results, post maintenance inspection status, etc.
2. Maintenance records should be properly kept for a period of no less than 5 years. At the same time, a fire extinguisher maintenance file should be established, and maintenance records should be organized and archived according to numbers or other easily searchable methods for easy access and traceability at any time.

7、 Precautions
1. Maintenance personnel should strictly follow relevant safety operating procedures and wear necessary protective equipment such as gloves, goggles, etc. during the operation process.
2. The maintenance site should be kept away from sources of fire and heat, and open flame operations or smoking are strictly prohibited during the maintenance process.
3. For scrapped fire extinguishers, they should be disposed of according to relevant regulations and should not be discarded or dismantled without authorization.
